Life Is Strange: Episode 5

(Beware of spoilers for anyone who has not played all 5 of the episodes. You have been warned!)

A gripping and satisfying conclusion to the popular gaming series known as Life Is Strange. From the very beginning, I was completely captivated by the story and the characters shown in the episodes. Poor Max Caulfield has seen the worst of what Arcadia Bay has to offer and has come out at the end with a satisfying conclusion to herself and for those she surrounds herself with.

So lets do a quick recap as to how we got from point A, episode 1, to point B, episode 5. The most obvious thing we notice at the beginning, even before Max gets her powers, is the fact that Rachel Amber has been missing for months and as we walk through the corridor after Jefferson's class, her poster is on the double doors for all of us to see and interact with. So we all know Rachel is missing. (Great, one thing down.) As time goes on we soon discover that Chloe and Rachel were really close while Max was away for 5 years and that Chloe is the one looking for her and is putting up the missing person posters. Once episode 1 ends, we all have many questions, one of which, 'Where is Rachel Amber and what is the significance?'. Episode 4 gives us part 1 of the answer to the question: Rachel Amber is dead.

Chloe and Max follow all the clues and information they collected in episodes 1, 2 and 3, and this leads them to the place where the Dark Room is hidden. They go down into the room and find Rachel's photos. They then head to the junkyard and discover Rachel's body. So we know  that she is gone but then we get to the second part of the question: "What is the significance?" That's when episode 5 comes in...

Max gets captured by Jefferson and then has to sit there while he takes photos of her and say why he is doing this. Mr Jefferson is a passionate artist who has taken that step from passion to obsession. He talks about how the "impure" models who approach him, don't have that purity that young, unsuspecting girls do. He explains how he likes to capture the image at the height of their innocence and Jefferson believes that particular moment can only be captured when the person is fading in and out of consciousness.

Max soon notices that some photos of herself from a few moments before in the Dark Room are on a table in front of her. She uses her powers and travels backwards to that moment when Jefferson is taking his "best photos". This wasn't the place Max wanted to be and she ends up passing out completely and ending up where she started before. Max finally asks what happened to Rachel Amber. Jefferson explains that he took Nathan Prescott under his wing and became a father figure to him. Nathan wanted to be Mark so much that he started trying to do his own "Dark Room Sessions" by purchasing drugs from Frank, to then finding girls and drugging them, to then taking their photos. Mark explains that Nathan first tried his luck with Rachel Amber but then accidentally gave her an overdose, consequently killing her. Then again with Chloe but she got away, thus leading to the confrontation in the bathroom. (Phew, that's a lot of information but bear with me.)

So, for me, mind officially blown but there was still some questions left unanswered. Rachel Amber's disappearance was like a little side quest for Max when really that was Chloe's main quest. Max was really heading towards stopping the tornado. But, due to something Max did in the past, the tornado happens anyway. Max knows she has to bust Nathan and Mark somewhere back in time. So she finds the selfie that she took in Jefferson's class, all the way back in episode 1. She changes and few things but every time she thinks she has fixed it, the tornado happens.

After some crazy time jumps and a weird dream sequence, she decides to just weather out the storm with Chloe at the lighthouse. But Max watches as the tornado nears Acadia Bay and then says "I caused this! All of this! This is my storm!" Chloe tries to calm Max down but it doesn't work. Chloe then reveals the Butterfly Photo that Max took moments before she discovered that she could rewind time. Chloe then says "You could use that photo, to go back and fix everything. All you would have to do is let me..." Max, teary eyed, shouts "Fuck that! You're my number 1 priority and I won't trade you!" Chloe than says that she isn't being traded and that Max has just been avoiding their fate and that Max is the only one who can make this choice.

You are then given the series final choice: sacrifice Chloe or sacrifice Arcadia Bay? Me being the heart-wrenching person I was at the time of my first play through, I chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay. (Bad Ending. For argument sake, compared to the other ending, this one is the bad one) Chloe and Max embrace as the tornado smashes into Acadia Bay and then once the storm settles, Max and Chloe drive off into the sunset.

So, in my opinion, this isn't the best ending although it is what I would have wanted to see Max and Chloe do because after everything you have witnessed them experience as best friends, it is the most heart breaking thing to force them to them separate forever. But when you look at the bigger picture, letting Chloe go is the right thing to do.

When you choose to let Chloe go, depending on your choices, Max and Chloe will have a teary goodbye or they will KISS and then have a teary goodbye. So that proves another question we all had which was whether Max was in love with Chloe and it completely depends on your choices and whether you did everything to benefit Chloe e.g. taking Chloe's side in the fight with David etc. But whatever you choose, you will have to endure this absolutely crushing goodbye between best friends.

Max then uses the Butterfly Photo to travel back and then just sit there while everything happens. Through the entire series, Max has told herself and has been told that she is 'Super Max' but the first heroic thing she set out to do is now becoming the most cowardly thing she had to do. She is forced to sit there and face reality and her true fate. When she finally hears the gunshot, she completely breaks down and just curls up in a corner. We then see the future change...

Due to shooting Chloe, Nathan is arrested immediately by David and then interrogated. This leads to Jefferson's arrest and all the bad things that happened before, didn't happen this time. Just like in episode 3 when Max changes the future and sees all the polaroids change to something else, we get to see that again but we see all the moments that Chloe and Max shared together, get burned away and changed to something else. With each change, you feel the crushing emotion of the change. After that is finished, we skip forward to the present time where Max is about to attend Chloe's funeral which just adds to all the emotion but you can't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction because Chloe wanted Max to get justice for Rachel and all the other victims of Nathan and Mark Jefferson and she did, not only that, Max also stopped the tornado from killing loads of people in Arcadia Bay. The final scene is of Max looking at Chloe's coffin as a Blue Butterfly lands on the lid and rests, Max smiles to herself and then the credits roll...

Wow, this entire series has been so emotional but also so amazing. I tried to anticipate how the series would end but honestly, even will all the theories, I still couldn't of guessed how the final episode would play out. I think the creators have done a phenomenal job with keeping the story interesting, entertaining and mind blowing since day 1! I think a lot of players knew that Chloe would have to die but I think the developers may have done this on purpose because it means throughout the entire game they might build this false hope that they could possibly save Chloe and also stop the tornado but unfortunately, it's either one or the other.

Overall, I am really sad to see this series end and I hope we see more games like this in 2016 but I know that they will struggle to top this game due to its uniqueness and general high quality.

I've had a really good time playing and reviewing the episodes and I hope you enjoyed this final episode review for Life Is Strange.

Happy Gaming Everyone!

Until Dawn: What Happened to Hannah & Beth?

(This post contains major spoilers to the key plot to Until Dawn. If you don't want to have the story ruined, don't read this post!)

So, Until Dawn has been out for a while now and many people, like myself, have done their best to collect all the clues and try to unravel the mystery.
For those who have played the story, we all are aware that at the beginning, Beth and Hannah go missing in Blackwood Pines, never to be seen again. The main story takes place a year after they go missing. So, we know that much, however, despite the majority of people completing the game and trying to keep everyone alive, some people are still confused as to what happened to Hannah and Beth. This post will explain what happened and why.

To begin with, Hannah has a massive crush on Mike, Jess and Emily find out and decide to play a mean prank on Hannah to teach her a lesson. Matt and Ashley also joined in on the prank. Jess left a fake note for Hannah to find which read, "Hannah, you looked so hot in that top. But I bet you look even hotter out of it. ;) Meet me in the guest room at 2:00AM, Mike xxx"
Hannah believed the note and proceeded to go to Mike's room, only to be surprised by all her friends in the room with a camera, just as she was about to get unchanged. Sam bursts into the room too late and tries to explain that it was just a mean prank. Hannah was so embarrassed that she ran out of the lodge. Once Hannah left, Beth saw her and proceeded to chase after her through the woods.
Once Beth found Hannah, they got chased themselves by something, which caused them to be driven to the cliff. Hannah loses her footing and falls over the edge, dragging Beth with her. Beth manages to grab hold of a branch but this doesn't last long. No matter what choice you make, the twins still fall of the cliff and into the mines.

In the game, that is where we last see the twins. But here is what happened while they were down there...

Beth was killed when she landed on a rock that was below the cliff, she then fell down the mine shaft that was open. Hannah wasn't killed by the fall but got knocked out and she broke her leg. Hannah realised her sister was dead and decided to bury her, right after she took Beth's jumper to keep her warm. By this point she had been down the mine nearly 5 days. Hannah by this point stated in her diary she made, that she had never been this hungry and that she was still hoping help would come.
By the 30th day down the mine, Hannah had no choice but to dig Beth up and eat her. She states in her diary that she is "So sorry" and that she had "No choice". She also says it is the only way she can survive anymore. By day 33, the Windego curse had begun to consume Hannah. She talks about how her nails had been pushed out and that she couldn't feel the pain of her broken leg anymore and that she was getting stronger.
The last page of her diary says it all. It is just etched writing saying "HUNGER" or "HUNGRY" over and over. By this point, Hannah was at the final stages of becoming a Windego.

So, we are all up to speed so far. Because Hannah resulted to cannibalism, she then turned into a Windego. A year later, she then had no control on whether she wanted to hunt her friends down, one by one. However, if you collect all the twins clues while in the game. When Sam and Mike find Josh in the mines, Sam tells Josh what happened to his sisters. Through this, when Josh was confronted by Windego Hannah, Josh yells "Hannah!?" as he notices her butterfly tattoo on her shoulder. By doing this, Hannah recognises Josh and keeps him alive. Only for him to later on, be left down the mines to starve and then also result to cannibalism and become a Windego.

There you have it. The true story as to what happened to the Washington Twins. It is a tragic story of how desperation can bring out the worst in some people. When I realised that was what happened, I was so shocked that I convinced myself that it wasn't that and that it must be something else. But, unfortunately, that happened to them and Hannah had to live through it.

Hope you enjoyed and Happy Gaming!

Life Is Strange: Episode 5 Theory

The Importance of the Butterfly Photo

(Spoilers ahead!)

I've been thinking about what could possibly happen in the final episode of Life Is Strange and all my ideas have come to one conclusion so far. It has to do with the butterfly photo Max took in the first episode which was followed by the event of Max discovering her powers. I think that is photo has a lot more importance then just a simple photo of the butterfly.

Now, many people have speculated that Chloe has to die in order to stop the tornado from coming to Arcadia Bay. This is in relation to chaos theory, one of the sayings are "A flap of a butterfly wing can cause a tornado further down the line." What if it isn't referring to the actual butterfly in Life Is Strange but to Chloe. Maybe her living after that day is the theoretical "Wing Flap" which causes the tornado.

I have no concrete idea on how Max would figure this out in order to realise she has to go back and let her best friend die. However, in light of her new ability to jump back in time through photos, she has a path back to the exact moment when she would have to let Chloe die. When she took the butterfly photo. Big question, where is the photo now?

In episode 1, when Chloe is looking at all the photos Max took that day, she comes across the butterfly photo and realises that Max saved her life in the toilet. A few moments later, Max tries to fix her original camera but cannot. Chloe then offers to give Max William's camera. In exchange, Chloe takes the butterfly photo. So, Chloe has the butterfly photo. There is further proof throughout some episodes because Max is given the opportunity to look through Chloe's jacket and look through her wallet. In the wallet she finds a photo of Rachel Amber and the butterfly photo next to it. Max states "It's so touching that Chloe would put my photo right next to Rachel's." This can be seen in episode 3 and 4. So up until episode 4, Chloe still has the butterfly photo in her wallet, which should be in the jacket she was wearing when she gets shot at the end of episode 4.

Before she gets to Chloe's body, Max will need to escape from Mr Jefferson. Again, I am unsure how Max will do this because in the episode 5 teaser, Mr Jefferson is about to inject her with more drugs which will not allow her to use her powers effectively or at all for a certain amount of time. She may have to endure the torture that Mr Jefferson puts her through and then rewind when she gets the chance. Maybe someone comes to rescue her? I am totally unsure but I am quite sure that the
butterfly photo has a greater significance to the progression of the story.

That's my theory so far. I don't claim this to be true, it is just a theory and I am hoping that Episode 5 brings a satisfying and question answering conclusion to the entire story. I'm positive that the creators of Life Is Strange will not disappoint us because they haven't disappointed us yet with the story so far.

Hope you enjoyed reading about my theory and Happy Gaming!

Life Is Strange: Episode 4

(Warning! This post includes Spoilers!)

We all finally know what happened to Rachel Amber. Unfortunately, the outcome was what most people came to expect in terms of what happened to Rachel. In my opinion, while I was playing through the episodes, once we found the note Nathan wrote about Rachel in the Dark Room, I came to assume that she was still in there alive and just locked away for whatever reason. But sadly, that wasn't the case...

In episode 4, once Max gets back from the alternative reality and helps Chloe put all their clues together, they discover an abandoned barn holding old Prescott documents about the farmland and at first, seemed to hold nothing special. Until Max decides to dig through the hay. She finds a padlocked door which looked brand new compared to the barn. The best friends find a way to break the lock to the door and walk down some steps to find a big iron door, which needed a passcode to get in.

In order to get into the door, you must remember back when you were collecting the evidence and clues from Nathan's dorm room. On a small piece of paper, there are a collection of numbers. All the numbers are written in blue ink except for a 3 digit number in red ink. That one is the one to open the 'Dark Room'.

When I finally got into the room and saw all the water and cans of food, I thought that maybe Rachel was in there and that they were just keeping her there because she remembered what happened to her where people like Kate couldn't remember anything from the experience. But as we went further into the dark room, you could clearly see that no one was there and no one was being kept there.

By looking at the room, you could see that they would take random people and drug them so they didn't know what was going on and then took photos of them. Max searches through a cabinet and finds all the red folders that were shown in various moments during the episodes. They found Kate's file along with Rachel's and an empty folder that was labelled "Victoria". Chloe and Max looked at the pictures of Kate and saw what she was like and how drugged up she was. Then they moved to Rachel's folder. Hers were slightly different. She seemed very awake and angry in the pictures but was still tired up. Also she wasn't in the dark room, she was in another location outside. The final picture of Rachel, was of her in a dug up hole with Nathan laying next to her. Max response to this picture was "This is so staged." Chloe begins to panic. Rachel doesn't look alive in the last photo but she holds on to her sheer desperation to see her again, alive.

Chloe recognizes the place where the final photo was taken. It was the junkyard. They take off and head for the junkyard. This part was just truly heart breaking, you can tell that Chloe knows what she is going to find and I'm sure everyone knows too. They find the area and begin to dig with their bear hands. They soon find a small glimpse of Rachel and they know it's her because of the clothes she is wearing. Chloe is distort and cannot bear to look at her best friend's body. She begins to truly cry and yell Rachel's name and saying "Why her?! I loved her so much! Who does this? What world is this?!"

After that, they go to the Vortex Club party and try to find Nathan. Max also has the option to warn Victoria about the whole situation. They don't find him there but receive a text from Nathan saying "There won't be any evidence left, once I'm done." They run back to the junkyard and Chloe is ready, gun in hand. They run to Rachel's 'grave' to find the body still there. Chloe is in a daze still looking at Rachel.

Suddenly, Max gets a needle in her neck and begins to pass out. She tries to rewind but the drugs are quick. With the last of her strength, she yells to Chloe. But it is too late. She notices too late and is shot in the head, right in front of Max.

Powerless, Max looks up at her attacker for it only to be her hero and idle, Mr Jefferson, looking down at her just as she fully blacks out.

The episode ends there.

So much came out of this episode and it is the most tear-jerking episode out of them all so far. This episode was definitely worth the wait and delivered so many answers from previous episodes. I always saw speculation about Mark Jefferson being creepy and weird in his methods of teaching in photography and his style. But never did I think he would go this far to get the photos he wanted. It is also obvious that Nathan is in on all this and has a very similar photo style to Mr Jefferson's.

Big question is, What Happens Next? Max is captured and about to be drugged up according to the teaser to Episode 5: Polarized. This episode has been the most emotional and the most crushing episode. Every moment was just completely emotional and just over all feeling of sadness towards the end of the 5 part series.

I cannot wait for the next episode and really do not know what to expect for the final episode...

Hope you enjoyed and Happy Gaming!

Life Is Strange Episode 4: My Theory

(Warning! There are Spoilers!)

As we all know, Life Is Strange Episode 4 is due to come out any day this week and there are millions of fans speculating theories and stories about what is to come in the following episode. There is a lot of speculation about the next events that are to play out. I will mention a few now.

Some people have questioned whether Max will still have her powers, considering in the alternative time line, Chloe would have never been in the situation in the toilet and thus this wouldn't have caused the event which lead to Max discovering her power. In my opinion, in the teaser for episode 4, Max is seen to be wearing her original outfit, which is the jacket, top and jeans. This could mean she might have decided to go back in time again to stop Chloe from ever getting into the accident that causes her to be in a wheelchair. (I think the accident is a car crash, due to the last picture we see of Chloe once the time line is changed is her getting a new truck for her birthday.) This would mean that she still has her powers. Another theory is that you might be given a choice as to what time line you want to live in. Again, in my opinion, this is a very loose theory, due to the fact that if this was the case,  the alternative timeline might be too much to accommodate for compared to the original timeline. For example, Chloe wouldn't have met Rachel and the events that happened with Kate might not have happened and this could be loads of other events as well. In turn, this would turn the entire story around and the rest of the episodes would mean nothing. So, I doubt that the creators of Life Is Strange would do that to their story at this point.

These are just a few theories going round on the internet. So now I'm going to explain my theory.  So I think that Max will try to rewind back to when William should have had his accident and it is still possible to travel back using the photo William took of Chloe and Max. This photo would still exist because Max changed the future after the photo was taken so all she would need to do is find the photo in the album again. She could acquire the picture while at Chloe's house because that was where the episode was left at the end of episode 3. So it is completely possible that the episode could play out this way. Just before Max goes back she could possibly explore what has changed by looking at newspapers around the house and TV etc. She might even get to look in Chloe's room and see how much it has changed due to her interests wouldn't be the same in this timeline. There is so much Max can discover but not only that, this gives Max a huge wake up call to show how something that can be considered can be quite little, can create a huge impact on the timeline.

So that's my theory. I don't claim for this to be true, it is simply my theory as to what might happen in Episode 4 of Life Is Strange.
I would love to hear any theories you might have or your thoughts on my theory.

Hope you enjoyed and Happy Gaming!

Life Is Strange: How To Save Kate Marsh

This particular event happens in Episode 2 Out Of Time.

(This Contains Spoilers for Episode 2! You have been warned!)

So towards the end of episode 2 you are presented with the dilemma, where the bullying and harassment has driven Kate Marsh to try and commit suicide. She is going to jump off the top of the dormitory clock tower. Max manages to use her powers to pause time to reach the top of the tower just before she jumps. However, in pausing time she used up a lot of her powers and couldn't rewind anymore in that particular moment. You now to select the right answers to save Kate's life and there are no second chances in this particular moment.

This is possibly one of the most pressured moments in the entire game so far due to that is the first, and only moment, in the episodes that make you deal with your consciences and choices in one moment instead of later. In other words, instead of your choices coming back to bite you later, they actually bite you in the here and now.

So, while you are on the roof Kate will bring up a few moments in the past that caused Kate distress and cause her situation to worsen. For example, whether you stood up to David or not and when she asks you about whether to go to the police. Most of the things you need to know and do are found in the girls dorm.

First, do all the erasing on Kate's slate outside her room and the web link to her video in the girls bathroom on the mirror. This gives Max something to show to Kate as proof that she cares. When you are in Kate's room giving back the copy of the 'October Country' have a look through her things in the room. Near the rabbit cadge, there is a postcard from Kate's father. It says how he cares deeply for her still and quotes the bible about having a light at the end of the tunnel. Further along on in her room their is a letter from her auntie. It is not a good letter. She shames her in the letter and says that Kate should "Pray for forgiveness." This means that when it comes to the part for saving Kate you will be given the option as to who will miss her if she follows through with the suicide. Choose her father because she refers to the postcard and brings you one step closer to stopping her from jumping.

Finally, you must mention gathering proof and hunting down Nathan Prescott's involvement in drugging her. Every chance you get to benefit Kate in your choices, make that choice if you want the best chance in saving her. You don't have to do everything that benefits toward Kate to save her, but by making all the choices benefit Kate, you have a much better chance in stopping her from jumping.

So those are the main points on how to save Kate Marsh. Hope you enjoyed and hope this helps.

Until Dawn

So if you haven't seen the trailer for Until Dawn here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdWelbl9B9w

So I watched the first play through demo of Until Dawn and within 7 minutes, I was absolutely terrified. My heart rate was through the roof but I was also wanting to see more.

So in the game you have the opportunity to play as 8 characters who are trapped on a secluded mountain retreat with a psychotic murderer who is out for their blood.

The gameplay consists of exploring and point and click. For example, say if the killer has backed your character into a corner and it is time for you to run. It will give you the option to either throw a vase at the killer or just run. This can either be good for your character or life threatening. It is like watching a horror movie and instead of you yelling at the screen telling the protagonist to hide or run, instead you control where they go, you decide where they hide and you are in charge of who lives and who dies...

This is the murderer who is chasing you throughout the house and other areas. When you hear his voice, despite using a voice changer, you get a chill down your spine. Though he looks like a brut, when he talks, he is actually calm and collected, which makes him 10x more terrifying.

In the moments when you aren't running for your life, you can find some clues as to why you are being chased and who by. You can find clues that link possible other victims and if one of the characters are missing then you might find clues as to where they might be.

This game feels like an L.A. Noire cross The Evil Within horror game. The graphics are also extremely life like which, again, makes the atmosphere and general look of the game feel a lot more like a movie and it brings in a whole new way of looking at horror games.

I expect a lot from this game and I can't wait to see more of it. This shows a lot of promise to be an amazing experience.

Hope you enjoyed and I really recommend that you play this game if you get the chance when the full game comes out.

Happy Gaming!

Life Is Strange: Episode 3

Life Is Strange: Chaos Theory

If you would like to see the trailer for the 3rd episode, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue9b6hkp48Y

Yet again, this game has literally blown me away and I am not sure how they are going to top it after this episode but I can only expect something even better than the last, which has been a reoccurring trait for the creators of the game.

(Spoilers! If you haven't played the episodes 1, 2 or 3! You have been warned!)

So following the previous episode, Max, depending on what choices you have made, is reliving the events of saving Kate's life earlier that day. She is happy at the fact she did save her but is determined to find out what caused her to be driven to try and commit suicide and knows she needs to investigate further into some Blackwell students, staff and those involved in the Vortex Club.

Max receives a text from Chloe, telling her that she has a surprise and wants her to meet her outside in the car park. Upon meeting Chloe, she shows Max that she stole the spare keys to Blackwell from her stepdad. They then see Mr Jefferson and Victoria come out of the main building despite it being past curfew. Max and Chloe over hear Victoria and Mr Jefferson talking about the 'Every day heroes' contest. Long story short, Victoria tries it on with Mr Jefferson by offering him favours in return of choosing Victoria's photo as the winning one. Mr Jefferson harshly refuses Victoria's advances and sends her away.

Chloe and Max then make their way into main building and try to break into the Principle's Office. Max gets a little help from Warren to find a way to bust the lock. (Nerd Power) Once making it inside, they begin to look through some students files. They gathered Rachel Amber, Kate Marsh, Nathan Prescott and Victoria Chase files.
Meanwhile, Chloe is looking through computer files and finds Nathan Prescott's hidden file which his father had paid to be hidden so that he has a spotless Blackwell record. Along with the subject complaints and teacher complaints, there were notes that Nathan had written and drawn. One was a piece of paper which had "Rachel in the dark room..." written over and over again. The other paper had "David Madsen knows what's in my head, David Madsen helps me follow the people he follows..."

Once discussing this Chloe and Max found a draw with $5,000 from the handicapped fund. Chloe wanted the money so that she could pay back Frank. You then decide whether you choose to take the money or not.

So after this, Chloe isn't finished with her late night antics and decides she wants to go swimming. (Typical...)

While swimming Chloe and Max have another heart to heart and talk about how they will always be there for each other and how they want to find out what happened to Rachel. But then, security busts in just as Chloe and Max dry off. "Hide!" Chloe and Max say quietly as they dart into the changing rooms in their effort to hide from the security officers. After dodging and ducking from the officers they both make it out, jump in Chloe's truck and drive off to her house.

The next morning, Max wants to get changed and back to Blackwell for class. While chilling out on the bed, Max asks Chloe about whether she had a serious boyfriend while Max was away. Chloe just speaks about "Never had anything serious but seriously stupid and going through  a 'toy boy' stage...and some other things..." Max states that she can't see Chloe being with any of the boys around Arcadia Bay. Chloe says that's because Max has a good eye and that she was grateful that Rachel came around to 'rescue' her. Max has the option to ask her whether she 'crushed' on Rachel. Lo and behold, Chloe admits that she did and described Rachel as being, Sexy, Sassy, Smart bla bla bla. She wasn't shy about admitting the fact that she did like her best friend more than just friends. But this just shows how much she trusts Max at this point in the story.

Max wants to get dressed but doesn't want to wear her clothes from last night but they still smell of chlorine and this is apparently too much for Max to bare so Chloe said that she could borrow her clothes. As soon as Max opens her wardrobe Chloe jumps up and says that Rachel left some of her clothes with Chloe and that Max was her size. Max is not very forth coming to wear Rachel's clothes because her style was a bit out there and leaning towards Chloe's style. But she is soon convinced, soon after deciding to wear the clothes, Chloe says "Max, you can afford to take chances. For example, I dare you to kiss me." Max is shocked as she says "What?" Chloe says again "I double dare you, kiss me now." You now have the decision to kiss her or not. Now before anyone jumps to conclusions, this is just a playful dare and, as far as I can tell, doesn't effect Max and Chloe's relationship whatsoever.

Moving on, Max goes downstairs to talk to Chloe's mum Joyce and they speak about William, Chloe's real dad, and how things definitely changed badly once he passed away, especially for Chloe. This goes to Joyce and Max looking through an old photo album, where Joyce give Max the last photo William ever took, which was a picture of Max and Chloe. Once he took the picture, he headed out in his car to pick up Joyce but had the car accident.

Later on, Chloe provides a distraction so that Max can try to get into David's computer to see if they can find any clues or useful information. The passcode to his computer is the day him and Joyce met which is written on the other side of the receipt for the meal Joyce made him that day which David keeps in his car.

On the computer, Max finds loads of pictures of Kate Marsh and Rachel Amber.  One of the pictures took Max's attention the most because it featured Rachel Amber being more than friends with Frank Bowers. Just as Max is about to tell Chloe, David storms in saying he was annoyed because he had to stay up late writing vandalism reports about two people swimming in the pool late at night. One thing leads to another and they begin to argue about David bulling students and accusing them of things they didn't do. At this point Max can choose whether to side with Chloe or side with David.

So either choice you make, Max and Chloe leave and Max gets the chance to tell Chloe about the picture of Rachel. Chloe says she just posed for the pictures and wasn't truly into Frank. To prove it to Chloe, Max suggests searching Frank's RV which just so happens to be at the Two Whales Diner.

So after questioning Frank, Nathan and police officer at the diner you find out a lot of information. Nathan's father hired a cop to 'babysit' Nathan and Frank, Frank took a blood oath to Rachel and Rachel took some pictures for Frank and now he carries them around because he thought she posed for love.

Max uses this information to ask Frank if she can see the picture of Rachel, to reach  the picture he places his keys on the table next to Rachel's photo. Max takes the keys while saying "It's time for me to take the keys now asshole." Just before Frank goes ape, Max rewinds to before he took his keys out and it was like she was never there.

Chloe and Max make it into Frank's RV. They find a small diary which had pictures of Rachel and Frank together and some love letters Rachel wrote to Frank. As you can guess, this is the proof that she didn't want to believe nor know about. She is raging, she is confused and just so angry at the fact Rachel lied to her face about Frank. Max rightly points out that Rachel hid it from her because she knew how Chloe would react. Chloe doesn't want to hear it. She rants about all the bad things that have happened in her life and now her best friend betrays her. She storms out of the RV while shouting "Fuck Everybody!" Chloe tosses Frank's keys on top of a roof then her and Max speed away in her truck.

While in the car, Chloe is having a mental break down. She is going through everything and Max is trying her best to make her feel better because it is just beyond the point of no return. Seeing Chloe as such a strong character throughout the game so far and to see her teary eyed does create quite an impact.

She doesn't listen to anything Max has to say and finishes the car journey with Chloe saying "Ever since my dad died, my whole life has been dipped in shit." Max gets out the car and says tries to say goodbye but Chloe just drives away.

Max is at a loss. She is sitting in her dorm room, looking at the photo that Joyce gave her. Suddenly, the picture moved and Max can hear the past of the day that photo was taken. Max is freaking out, but concentrates further. Once she glares at the photo long enough, she is then taken back to the time when that photo was taken. The exact moment in time back when Max was 13, Chloe was 14 and William was still alive.

Max takes this opportunity upon herself, she is going to save William's life and make Chloe's life better. Instead of letting William drive his car, Max hides his keys and ultimately, saves his life.

Everything turns white, Max has changed the future. Big Time. Chloe never went through the phases, Joyce never married David, Chloe did well in school rather than getting expelled. But not only did Chloe's life change, but Max's did too. When the white goes away, Max is sitting in Blackwell with Victoria and the other Vortex Members. She is a 'cool girl' and is a part of the Vortex Club. Max gets up and leaves and is freaking out because she has changed so much. She walks past Warren and he is with Stella. She travels to Chloe's house and on the way she sees 3 whales that have died and had been washed up on the beach.

She finally reaches Chloe's home. She knocks on the door and William answers. She is happy to see him alive and says that he is happy to see her after a while and that he was worried he wouldn't see Max again. Max states that she would never do that to Chloe. William says that Chloe had been dying to see Max and call out "Chloe! you have a visitor!"...

Max is in horror when Chloe is in a wheelchair and is strapped down with wires and breathing tubes in her throat. She has obviously had an accident and has become paralyzed. (I honestly, couldn't believe it!) and that is where the episode ends.

WOW! I just have no words. This episode started off a little slow and I felt not a lot was going on, however, you discover so much about some students and things going on. But this hits you hard because everything you have done in the past three episodes might have all been for nothing because Max changed the future so heavily. But there is a glimmer of hope because they show you a preview of episode 4.

Max turns up at a Vortex Club party. There is music and everyone is dancing and before the preview ends, they zoom in on a poster of the End Of The World party which is being advertised everywhere at Blackwell.

This episode ended on such a cliff hanger that I don't even know how to react. It could go anywhere, Max changed so much that Rachel Amber might still be around and things that were different before might have been totally flipped on its head. Again, I cannot wait for the next episode which should be released between the 20th to the 30th of June.

I cannot express how hooked this game has me right now! Everything is a surprise and I'm sure there will be many more!

Hope you enjoyed and sorry about the length of the post, there was a lot going on in this episode. Happy Gaming Everyone!

GTA V Next Gen: Secrets Revealed (Murder Mystery)

GTA V Next Gen

So GTA V is the most dominating game of 2014 and has won multiple awards for having the greatest amount of purchases within 24 hours of its release and earning the most profit any video game has ever got. If you think that is impressive then you might be shocked to know that these were all achieved with the first Gen of the game and now for all the enjoyment for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 fans, they have released the "Next Gen" of GTA V.

Okay, I know Next Gen isn't a new thing however, the things gamers are discovering in the Next Gen version of the game are new! For those who do not know, the first version of GTA V was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 but they released the Next Gen so that players who had a PS4 or Xbox One could transfer all their data from the first Gen to the Next Gen which offered improved graphics, exclusive first person mode and much more. (As shown in the comparison above.)

So in the Next Gen, gamers have discovered that there is a new murder mystery. (NOT to be confused with the Infinity Killer) There is a completely new mystery that Rockstar have given players to solve.

(Warning! Before you read anymore, there are spoilers! You have been warned!)

So in the first gen of the game you could find this boarded-up mine entrance that couldn't be broken into no matter what you did, which included shooting, punching and blowing the wood up. It would not budge...until the Next Gen came along.

This is what the tunnel looks like and here is the location. When you enter the tunnel you get a very ghostly feeling or the sense of something that is not right. To many players shock and horror, they would soon find a body laying down on the floor and seeming to have been there a very long time. The body is dressed in a suit, like the ones warn in the game L.A. Noire. (Another Rockstar Game) Most people at first thought this was an Easter egg left by the developers to allow them to send a slight nod to their successful game L.A. Noire. But this was soon put to rest...

This is the body that is found in the tunnel. So far this is the only relevant thing in the tunnel and has no other real purpose than to hide the body. As far as the gamers have found anyway.

So if you want to complete this murder mystery than you can follow these steps.

  1. You have to do the mission as Michael and will not work if you find the clues as Trevor or Franklin.
  2. First go to The Gentry Manor Hotel and find the note on the wall that reads "Old Fred Acts Nice, But It Ain't So!" wait till you see the auto save sign appears and then you can leave.
  3. The second message is at the City Hall Parking Lot and reads "Fred Makes Cartoons For Kids, Funny Thing Considering What He Did." again, wait for the auto save again and then leave.
  4. The third message is at The Oriental Theatre and reads "Ain't No Mystery. They Drowned Her Because Of What She Knew!"
  5. The Final Message is at the Galileo Observatory and reads "David Richards Knows"
  6. Once you have found these messages you can find the drowned body of a woman in the deep water area of Fort Zancudo and you must have a submarine or scuba gear to reach her.
  7. From there you can then go to Solomon Richard's office to find the Confession. Simply go to his office after 9PM and read the paper on his desk.
  8. Once this note is read, you are then lead to Isaac's body in the tunnel.
  9. Finally, when you return to Isaac's body then you have then solved the mystery and for your efforts you get new filter which gives the game a 1930's look. This is activated by calling Isaac off your iFruit Phone and is available for all three characters in the main story.
And there you have it, this is just one of the many mysteries that are likely to turn up in the Next Gen version of the game. According to a few sources the Mount Chiliad Mystery still remains unsolved and is still baffling even the greatest gamer minds. Maybe Rockstar dropped some hints in the places that gamers overlooked in the first gen of the game and has given a few helpful tips as to how to solve the mystery.

Hope you enjoyed and please leave a comment below to suggest anything or let me know how I'm doing,

Happy Gaming!

Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X

See the full trailer at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm8DOcm2RBA

So as you can see from the trailer Mortal Kombat X looks amazing and each character, new and old, have these new types of move combos which allow a faster and deadlier gameplay.

(Warning! There will be some Spoilers! You have been warned!)

So in the trailer you just watched, you saw a preview of the new story mode and some of the moves the characters can do. The main parts of the story mode takes place 25 years after the events of Mortal Kombat 9 and has a few flashbacks that all occur 5 years before. You follow Jax's daughter, Jacqueline Briggs, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade's daughter, Cassie Cage, descendent of Kung Lao, Kung Jin and Takashi Takeda, son of Kenshi.
They are a team of highly trained fighters who are, and many others, charged with protecting Earth Realm and the way they had to do this is through protecting and ancient amulet from the grasp of Lord Shinnok who plans to destroy Earth Realm.

Luckily, Raiden, Johnny, Sonya and Kenshi were able to trap Shinnok in the amulet and managed to keep him trapped for 20 years until Quan Chi plotted to release him and so causes a massive rift between the realms. There is a lot of twist and turns that will leave your jaw on the floor.

The fatalities have all been changed and improved for brand new moves and more gory finishers and they give a whole new meaning to the term "Finish Her!" and "Finish Him!".

For example, this is the result of a fatality done by the dynamic duo, Ferra/Torr, a pair of brand new fighters who are fun to play and explore with and have quite humorous attack moves. Such as Torr will throw Ferra at their enemy to deliver damage. (Bare in mind, Ferra is a little girl)

So there you have it! The New Mortal Kombat at its finest. Everything has been improved from a longer story mode to a more realistic look to the game. You will be telling your friends to "Get Over Here!" when you want them to play this eye popping and jaw dropping experience!

Hope you enjoyed and see you next time,

Happy Gaming Everyone!

PlayStation 4 April Fools!

April Fools from PlayStation 4!

Okay, It was April Fools the other day and I've got to say I'm not usually a gullible person but my love for games and consoles did leave me astray on the 1st. This is my story of the hilarious trick that PlayStation played on me and possibly a good few hundred others! :)

Here is the actual video I fell for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bPUaLpNcMY

Right, once you watched that I'm sure you must have said "What an idiot! Can't believe she fell for that!" but if I'm honest, I can't believe I fell for it either!

So what happened was millions of people who have got an account synced with PlayStation 4 received an email which explained the launch of their new product and gave you a link to the video. This link cleverly didn't let you see the title which would have shown you the fact that the video title had 'April Fools' in it.

So in the video it shows you this 'amazing' new technology that they were working on which you allow you to take swimming gameplay to actual swimming pools or areas which water but they do state that you can use it outside the swimming pools.

After my realisation I laughed so hard at myself and sent a kudos to PlayStation for reminding all of their fans and followers that they, as a multi-million pound company, also have a very good sense of humour which can bring a smile to everyone's faces. :)

Life Is Strange: Episode 2

Life Is Strange Episode 2: Out Of Time

If you would like to see a trailer, Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMxetvCzTcQ

I have been so excited for this episode of Life Is Strange. The trailer made me want to see it even more! So in this episode, Chloe and Max's friendship definitely blossoms in this episode and the gameplay and exploration of Max's powers deepens.

(Spoilers! for those who haven't played the first or second episode, you have been warned)

So at the end of the first episode, Max opens up to Chloe and tells her about her new found powers and the terrible tornado which destroys their town and how this tornado is meant to arrive within days. Upon knowing this information, Chloe would like some proof (As any person would) of Max's abilities.

Max starts by telling Chloe what she has in her pockets. Of course, she purposely fails to start with so Chloe would then empty her pockets so Max could get a good look. Max then rewinds and tells Chloe what she has in her pockets, down to the tiny details. For example, what the key ring was on her keys and how many cigarettes she had in her packet. As predicted, Chloe is blown away but isn't fully convinced. For Max's next trick, she would predict the future in the next coming moments in the diner.

She, again, watches all the events happen and once they have, she then rewinds and tells Chloe what was going to happen. She predicts that a mug will break, an officer would get an emergency call and his partner would drive off without him, a small fight would break out but Chloe's mum broke it up and then finally, a cockroach would craw on the jukebox and cause it to break.

Chloe is flabbergasted, and then "Pledges allegiance to Max and all the powers she holds". This is just one of the main events that is going on. But, unfortunately, Kate is going through a particularly rough patch as the abuse she is getting from the viral video begins to pile on top of her and Max can't help but want to live up to the 'superhero' she has become. Max tries really hard to keep Kate happy and is also trying to gather evidence against Nathan Prescott who Kate claimed drugged her the night the viral video was filmed.

Chloe wants to hang out and bond with Max.  They head to 'Chloe's special place' and Chloe decides that she wants to shoot her gun at some bottles for some teen fun. They chill and fire a few rounds with Max's powers to help Chloe guide the shots she takes. This over use of Max's powers leads her to collapse. They discovered that Max's powers do have a limit and she does inflict damage on herself if she over uses her powers.

She quickly recovers and wakes up laying down on Chloe's lap, almost cradling her. This does show that Chloe's sensitive side is coming out a lot more around Max. Once a few more shots are fired, a stranger to Max comes out of the forest. Chloe knows him as Frank. He speaks about how Chloe owes him money. Things get a lot more dangerous when Chloe notices that Frank is wearing Rachel's bracelet and demands that he explains how he got it. Frank then pulls out a knife to threaten Chloe. Max then gathers her courage and points the gun at Frank and tells him to back off.

There are then two choices to make one is to shoot Frank but there are no bullets in the gun from the previous sessions. Frank gets angry at the fact Max tried to shoot him and states "I won't forget you girly..." Frank leaves and Chloe hugs Max, thanking her for standing up for her. If you choose not to shoot Frank. Then Frank makes his way over mocking Max and then takes the gun from her. He then states "I will keep the gun as interest while I wait for my money, Okay Chloe?" Frank leaves and Chloe gets annoyed at Max for "Basically, handing Frank her gun!"

With a finishing line from Chloe she states (For either choice you make) "Don't worry about it Max, Let's split, my special place don't feel too special anymore..." The best friends leave and they walk along the tracks talking and chatting. Chloe (Depending on your choice) states how she liked having the gun or she likes having the gun. Max holds Chloe's hand and replies with "Chloe, you have me to protect you now." This was adorable and a very cute moment between old friends that are becoming best friends once again.

This is when things take another turn for the worst. Chloe gets her foot stuck on the train tracks and the train was coming fast. Max uses her powers to save Chloe's life just in time. Chloe throws herself at Max and says "You saved my life again Max! We have hella bonded for life over this!" This was an incredible bonding moment between Chloe and Max.

As time goes on we get to the massive situation involving Kate. She has had enough. The bullying from Victoria and Nathan and the humiliation from the viral video had pushed her over her limit. Max returns to the school exhausted from the time travel usage and is then alerted to a situation happening at the girls dorm and everyone was gathering to check it out. To Max's horror she arrives just in time to see Kate leap off the top of the girls dorm to her death. Max tries to be "An Everyday Hero." She tries to rewind time but each time she tries to rewind she can only go back to just before Kate jumps which doesn't give her enough time to reach Kate.

She gathers her last bit of strength to pause time so she could make it to the roof. She reaches the top, nose bleeding and on the verge of passing out just to call out to Kate. She turns around teary eyed and barely holding on. You can save Kate but she can also commit suicide. From what you did in the past, it can either hinder or help your situation. (They mean it when they say "This event will have consequences") They then finish the episode with the investigation as to why Kate is driven to suicide and then a strange and unexpected eclipse and a cuddle from Warren. (Possible romance that might blossom between the two nerds)

Review

This episode blew me away and, again, left me wanting more! I cannot wait for the third episode which there was a taster for at the end of episode 2 which also looked extremely amazing and interesting.

I really hope each episode gets better and better which is all I can expect from what has already been shown. It is an amazing game and is unique in it's own way, which keeps everyone wanting more.

If you have a chance to play it then I highly recommend it and it definitely is a must buy or must watch depending on how you are going through the series.

Thanks for reading my review and hope you enjoyed it.

The Order 1886

The Order 1886

If you would like to see a trailer for 'The Order 1886' than click on this link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdZOSD1eT6k

So once you view the trailer and see the gameplay, you will know what I mean when I say "Wow!" As you might have guessed, The order is set in 1886 and you will follow the main protagonist, Sir Galahad, Who is a trusted and valued member of 'The Order'. They are in charge of protecting the people from 'The Half-Breeds'.

These are creatures that have evolved and attack the people. Pretty soon there is uproar when the Rebels try to work with the Half-Breeds to destroy 'The Order' and eventually make the world better. It is your Job as gamers, to help defend 'The Order' and discover the hidden truths behind closed doors...

So far the game shows amazing promise and have delivered on a few by showing the life-like animation and extremely impressive graphics. They also give the gamers a new way to kick-ass by supplying awesome weapons at their disposal to reek havoc on those who stand in their way. Some of the weapons are inspired by that of ideas presented by great minds of those times such as Tesla.

This game is a positive must-play, and has all the thrills and spills that one might expect from a game like this. However, some people might be disappointed due to the fact that it is a PlayStation 4 exclusive (So, sorry to all those Xbox One gamers out there :/)

Hope you all give this game a chance and Happy Gaming!

The Sims 4

The Sims 4

If you would like to see the trailer for The Sims 4, Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z00mK3Pxc8w

So ever since I was little, I have always been around the Sims games. I have played all of them and have always been highly entertained every time.

But as of 2014, Sims 4 is the crowning jewel of EA Games Sims games.

As you can see from this picture, EA has come a long way since the first Sims game. This means improved graphics, gameplay mechanics, activities and extras for you as gamers to discover, explore and enjoy.

So for those who don't know about Sims...

Sims is a game where you take control of a Sims life that you have created or one you have chosen. You guide your Sim through life and can take them from the cradle to the grave. You can help them follow their dreams and achieve their goals. You can marry them, have children, become rich or be poor.

Sims is a game where you have complete control over the Sims and what they do. This is a fun experience and there are so many routes that you can take your Sims down and you can have great fun discovering the different ways you can get the Sim to live their life.

In the new game, Sims 4, there are more career paths and more creative ways that Sims can communicate with one another. For example, in previous games Sims could only communicate when doing certain actions such as watching TV together or eating food together. But in the Sims 4 communication can take place anywhere at anytime for example, one Sim could be working out while the other is doing homework and they can both have communication during this.

There are many more new features added to Sims 4 and if I were to list them off in this Blog, then I would be here all day.

I would rate the Sims 4 a 7/10 due to the fact that if you want the best type of graphics and performance then you need to have a computer that can handle the FPS (Frames Per Second) that Sims 4 gives off. This mainly means a fairly good graphics card. Other than that, Sims 4 is an amazing game that is fun and can keep you glued onto your computer for hours on end (Trust me, I know...)

If you get a chance to give Sims 4 a go, don't hesitate because it is a unique experience and it is worth the play.

Hope you enjoyed this blog on Sims 4, If you have any suggestions on how I am going or of you would like one of your favourite games reviewed, don't be afraid to message me or comment. I am completely open minded to suggestions and even questions.

Happy Gaming Everyone! :)
